What we collect

Browsing this website does not require you to create an account, and there is no contact form, newsletter sign-up or tracking pixel on it. Specifically:

• Technical data. Our hosting provider automatically records standard technical information for every request — such as IP address, browser type, device type, approximate location derived from the IP address, and the time of the request. This is used to serve the site, keep it secure and protect it from abuse.
• Purchases. The book is not sold on this website. Every purchase button takes you to an online bookstore — Amazon, Apple Books, Kobo, Barnes & Noble and others — and the sale is made there, by that store. We receive no purchase or payment information about you at all, and the store, not us, delivers the book.
• Correspondence. If you contact us by phone or WhatsApp, we hold that conversation and your phone number in order to answer you.

We do not see, receive or store your full credit or debit card number.

Why we process it, and on what legal basis

• To deliver the book you purchased and to provide support — performance of a contract with you.
• To keep the website available, secure and free of abuse — our legitimate interest in running the site safely.
• To meet accounting, tax and consumer-protection obligations — compliance with a legal obligation.
• To measure how our advertising performs and to reach readers who may be interested in the book — our legitimate interest in promoting it, or your consent where the law requires it.

How the book is sold, and what that means for your data

There is no checkout on this website and no payment is ever taken here. The purchase buttons use Books2Read (a service of Draft2Digital), which is simply a page that lets you choose your preferred bookstore — Apple Books, Kobo, Everand, Smashwords, Thalia, Barnes & Noble and others — and then sends you on to that store. The English edition also has a direct link to Amazon.

From the moment you leave this website, Books2Read and the bookstore you choose act as independent controllers of your data under their own privacy policies, and your purchase is a contract with that store. We never see, receive or store your name, address, email or payment details from those purchases.

Cookies and third-party services

This website sets no cookies of its own. It uses one advertising and measurement technology, described below, and loads a small number of external resources:

• Meta Pixel (Facebook / Instagram) — a small measurement script from Meta Platforms that reports when a page on this site is viewed. It sets Meta cookies (such as _fbp) in your browser and sends Meta your IP address, browser details and the page you are on. It is used to measure how our advertising performs and to show our book to people likely to be interested in it. Meta processes this data as an independent controller under its own privacy policy, and you can control this in your Meta ad settings or by using your browser's tracking-protection settings.
• Google Fonts — the typefaces used on the site are loaded from Google's servers, so your IP address is transmitted to Google when the page loads. Google processes this under its own privacy policy.
• Cloudflare Pages — our hosting and content delivery provider, which serves the pages and may set a strictly necessary cookie for security purposes.
• YouTube — where lecture videos are embedded, only a still thumbnail is shown at first. Nothing is loaded from YouTube and no YouTube cookie is set unless you choose to press play, and embeds use the privacy-enhanced youtube-nocookie.com domain.
• Books2Read / Amazon — reached only when you click a purchase button and are taken to their own site.

Sharing and international transfer

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. It is shared only with the service providers named above, and only to the extent needed for them to perform their function. Some of these providers operate servers outside your country, including in the United States, so your data may be transferred internationally under the safeguards those providers put in place.

How long we keep it

Purchase records are kept for as long as applicable accounting and tax law requires. Technical server logs are kept for a short period for security purposes. Correspondence is kept only for as long as it is needed in order to help you.

Your rights
